Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Team Lead to join our Accounting Shared Service Center, reporting directly to the Tower Lead. The Team Lead will be responsible for overseeing a team of accounting professionals within a specific functional area, ensuring efficient operations, high-quality service delivery, and adherence to performance metrics. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of accounting processes, and a proven track record of driving team success in a shared service environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise a team of accounting professionals responsible for a specific functional area within the shared service center, such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, reconciliations or financial reporting.
  • Provide guidance, direction, and coaching to team members, setting clear performance expectations, and supporting their professional development and growth.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the team, including task assignment, workload management, and resolution of escalated issues, to ensure timely and accurate processing of transactions.
  • Monitor team performance against key performance indicators (KPIs), service level agreements (SLAs), and quality standards, analyzing trends and implementing corrective actions as needed to drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Tower Lead and other cross-functional teams to streamline processes, optimize resource allocation, and enhance service delivery within the assigned functional area.
  • Serve as a point of contact for internal stakeholders and external clients regarding team-specific inquiries, escalations, and service requests, ensuring timely resolution and effective communication.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to team members, recognizing achievements and addressing areas for improvement to foster a culture of accountability and excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, regulatory requirements, and accounting standards within the team, conducting periodic audits and assessments as needed.
  • Support the Tower Lead in implementing strategic initiatives, process improvements, and change management activities within the assigned tower.
  • Stay informed about changes in accounting regulations, industry best practices, and emerging trends related to the assigned functional area, and provide recommendations for updates and enhancements as appropriate.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • 4-7 years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role within a shared service center or similar environment.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, processes, and systems, with expertise in the assigned functional area (e.g., accounts payable, accounts receivable, etc.).
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a track record of effectively managing teams, driving performance, and achieving results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members, peers, and senior management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to analyze complex issues, identify root causes, and develop practical solutions.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems, with experience in implementing and optimizing technology solutions for accounting operations.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development, with a passion for staying updated on industry trends and best practices.
